This new power fundamentally alters your experience with combat in Destiny. Each character class can interact and utilize Strand in exciting new ways. Destiny 2 How to Unlock Strand

You might have already gotten the opportunity to fiddle around with the new Strand subclass in your playthrough of the Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign so far. But you won't be able to use Strand in other activities just yet.

To unlock the Strand subclass, you must first complete the Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign. After completing the final mission, Desperate Measures, you can travel to the Tower to speak with Zavala and Ikora. From there, travel back to the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna to meditate and unlock the Strand subclass.

Destiny 2 How to Use Strand

Wreak havoc in combat by using the power of Strand to weave objects from the threads, or unravel foes. Here is a quick glossary for getting started with Strand:

Weave: Create an object using Strand.

Unravel: Defeat an enemy currently affected by Strand, transforming them in a Tangle.

Tangle: An enemy that is Unraveled will leave behind a swirl of Strand fibers. Shoot Tangles to explode them and damage nearby enemies, or pick up Tangles to throw them at unsuspecting foes.

Suspend: Lift an enemy off the ground for a brief duration. In PvP, suspended players are lifted off the ground but can still move at a slowed speed and fire their weapon to fight back.

Sever: A severed enemy is less capable of affecting the material world, reducing their damage output as a result.

Woven Mail: Create a protective armor made of Strand and reduce any incoming damage.

Warlock Broodweaver

Warlocks manipulate the Strand to create Threadlings, explosive minions woven from threads of Strand. Send out waves of Threadlings to latch onto enemies and detonate. Any Threadlings that cannot find a target will return to you.

Here is a quick look at the Warlock's Broodweaver's kit:

Arcane Needle: A deadly projectile which tracks targets, causing high damage and unraveling any enemy on impact. Arcane Needle attacks can be chained up to three times in a row.

Weaver’s Call: On Rift cast, the Warlock weaves three Threadling eggs, which hatch into Threadlings when they hit a surface. Any perched Threadlings are converted to additional eggs.

Mindspun Invocation: This Aspect improves several of the Warlock’s abilities: Grapple: When you execute a grapple melee, the Warlock weaves three Threadling eggs from the target.

Threadling Grenade: You can consume your Threadling Grenade to generate a full complement of perched Threadlings.

Shackle Grenade: You can consume your Shackle Grenade to gain a buff, creating a suspending detonation on every kill.

Needlestorm: The Warlock's Super ability summons a wave of hardened spikes woven of Strand. This spikes stick into enemies or objects in the enviroment and detonate, before transforming into a cloud of Threadlings that seek to kill any remaining enemies.

Hunter Threadrunner

The Hunter character class pours its focus into mobility with how it interacts with Strand. Weave your threads into a rope weapon that gives you the optimal position in any fight.

Here is a quick look at the Hunter Threadrunner's kit:

Threaded Spike: Summon a rope dart that bounces between struck enemies before returning back to the Hunter. On return, the melee weapon grants melee energy for each enemy struck. Catching the Threaded Spike with perfect timing with reward an additional amount of melee energy.

Ensnaring Slam: While in the air, press the air-move input to slam downward, suspending all nearby enemies.

Widow’s Silk: This Aspect grants an additional grenade charge. The Hunter’s grapple ability creates a persistent grapple Tangle when it latches, which fully refunds grenade energy when grappled to. Hunters can use this ability to set up chains of grapple points that their entire team can use, greatly enhancing their ability to quickly move around in combat and/or traverse the environment.

Silkstrike: The Hunter's Super ability allows you to not only use your grapple to move through the world freely, but to toss out your rope and strike enemies down below. Use your grapple more frequently while Silkstrike is active. Your rope weapon will temporarily features a light and heavy attack.

Titan Berserker

Keep your threads of Strand close to the chest, by weaving them into massive claw weapons that would keep even the most tenancious foes at bay.

Here is a quick look at the Titan Berserker's kit:

Frenzied Blade: Dash forward and slash enemies with your Strand arm blades, decreasing any struck enemies damage output. Has three charges, and attacks can be chained.

Into the Fray: Destroying a Tangle weaves Woven Mail unto the Titan and nearby allies. In addition to reducing damage taken, this Aspect also increases the Titan’s melee energy regeneration while wearing Woven Mail.

Drengr’s Lash: When the Titan casts their class ability, the Titan will blast forward a powerful ripple in reality, suspending enemies that are caught in the shockwave’s path.

Bladefury: Unleashes the Titan's Strand arm blades with a light and heavy attack. The Super’s light attack is a supercharged version of the Frenzied Blade melee attack, and each light attack that connects increases the next attack’s speed. The Super's heavy attack allows the Titan to hurl a pair of projectiles forward that seek out enemies, suspending and damaging them on impact.
