The academic unit (i.e., "Physics", "Art History", etc.)that sponsors each course.
Note: The returned list of courses may be truncated if youspecify a large department unless you use some of the other criteriabelow to narrow the search (for instance, a Course Number,Course Code Range, upper or lower division for Course Level,or the Course Type).
The department's designation for an approved course (e.g. ArtHistory 198, Social Ecology 10, French 1c).This field searches the database for the course numbers as listedin the UCI General Catalogue orWebSOC, theSchedule of Classes. You may list single coursenumbers or a course number range, such as 5-20.
Specifying a range or digits alone will show a match with any coursecontaining that number (for instance, "1" for the Chemistrydepartment might display classes matching Chemistry 1B, 1LB, 1C,and 1LC), while adding letters will only return an exact match(i.e., "1C" in the example above will only display Chemistry 1C).
This field allows you to limit the search to Lower Division (coursenumbers 1 through 99), Upper Division (course numbers 100 through 199),or Graduate/Professional courses (course numbers 200 and higher). This is an easy way to limit the number of courses returnedfor large departments.
The 5-digit code representing a class in the printed Schedule ofClasses (e.g. 29001).

This field searches the database for classes taught by a particular instructor.Enter the last name only, in upper or lower case.
• Hint: If the instructor's last name is short andmatches too many other last names (e.g., "frank" would return allinstructors named Frank, and also instructors namedFranke and Franklin), place a comma directlyafter the last name ("Frank," -- instead of -- "Frank")to exclude longer last names.
In-person | 0-25% of the course might be online for undergraduate courses. 50% of the course might be online for graduate courses. |
Online | 26-100% of the course will be online for undergraduate courses. 50% of the course might be online for graduate courses. |
