Here Are Taylor Swift's Most Iconic Music Video Looks (2024)

Taylor Swift has worn many iconic looks in her music videos over the years. As an artist who puts dozens of hidden Easter eggs, references, and details into her music videos, it’s clear she doesn’t pick her outfits based on their cuteness alone. She understands the importance of each ensemble. For Taylor, it’s a reflection of the character and the song, from the heels she wears topastel-colored hair.

Every outfit featured in every one of her music videos has stuck with fans - her Swifties areinspired by her. They want to recreate their own versions of her outfits to wear to her concerts, which is such a cool trend.

As hardcore Swifties, it was difficult for us to narrow down which looks from her music videos were standouts in terms of being iconic. Deciding on only one look from each music video required a lot of agonizing, which may or may not have kept us up at night. Spoiler alert: we totally lost sleep over it.

We can’t wait for Taylor’s next music video to drop, so we can add more iconic looks to this list.

14 The Man

Taylor Swift surprised fans with "The Man" music video. At first, everyone thought that Taylor wasn’t in this music video...until she revealed that she played “The Man.” She went through hours in the makeup chair to transform herself into a man and she had a choreographer to help her move like a man.

13 Look What You Made Me Do - Zombie Taylor

In “Look What You Made Me Do”, Taylor showcased several iconic looks from past music videos, performances, and concerts. All of the costumes in this video are references. This zombie look is in reference to the end of the “Out of the Woods” music video, except the girl who ran through the woods in a blue dress died and came back as a zombie. Taylor looks straight out of "The Walking Dead".

12 You Belong With Me - Junior Jewels

The junior jewels look from “You Belong with Me” is a fan favorite. At Taylor’s concerts, there are always hundreds of fans wearing this look. Fans of Taylor who are juniors in high school recreate this shirt all the time. We have one sitting in our closet from when we were 'junior jewels'.

11 Shake It Off - Cheerleader

Taylor went from a band geek in “You Belong with Me” to a cheerleader for “Shake it Off.” Talk about range. This look is another one fans recreate to wear at her concerts. Loyalty to ones’ high school ends after graduation, but a Taylor Swift cheerleader is for life.

10 Love Story - Princess Juliet

This is a classic look from Taylor’s "Fearless" album. “Love Story” is a reimagined version of Romeo and Juliet. For the music video, she obviously had to dress up as Juliet. During the "Fearless" tour, she dressed in a similar look while her dancers did an Elizabethan-style dance around her. Sadly, when she performs the song today, she no longer dresses up like a princess.

9 22 - Not A Lot Going On At The Moment

When the music video, "22", came out, everyone frantically searched the Internet for this sparkly t-shirt...and were devastated when it was sold out. We are still devastated that it’s not in our closets! This video came out seven years ago. Fans have to bedazzle their own shirt for their 22nd birthdays.

8 ME! - Pastel Boss CEO

While Benjamin Button (Taylor’s newest kitty) stole the show in “ME!” Taylor and her dancer wore pastel suits that came in at a distant second. Sorry, but a kitty will be a scene-stealer every time. Still, we love a power suit. The pastel colors make it fun and feminine.

We can’t forget about the hidden Easter egg in this scene. The number of briefcases around her head symbolizes the number of albums she has released.

7 We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Squirrel Pajamas

We totally forgot about the squirrel pajamas from “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” How could we forget about these adorkable pajamas? Jessica Day from "New Girl" would be obsessed with these pajamas. What’s truly shocking is that Taylor opted for squirrel pajamas, rather than ones with cats on them.

6 Bad Blood - Catastrophe

“Bad Blood” is a fan favorite group costume. Nothing screams girl power like dressing up as Catastrophe, Cut-Throat, Slay-Z, Homeslice, etc. with friends before attending a Taylor Swift concert. The year this music video came out, everyone wanted to do this girl group costume. No one wanted to be a Powerpuff Girl when they could be a “Bad Blood” girl.

5 You Need To Calm Down - Happy Meal

“You Need to Calm Down” had many campy looks, but the Happy Meal costumes had to take the top prize. While the feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift ended months prior, they showed fans they were friends by appearing in this music video together. Katy (as a hamburger) and Taylor (as fries) ran into each other’s arms, creating a true love story.

4 Babe - Redhead Secretary

Taylor had written “Babe” with Train’s Patrick Monahan. Instead of putting it on her album, "Red", she sold it to Sugarland for their album, Bigger. In the music video, Taylor played a redheaded secretary who was in love with a married man. This music video showed that Taylor can rock any hair color.

3 I Knew You Were Trouble - Pink Hot Topic Worker

“I Knew You Were Trouble” is a music video that is now associated with goats. Sadly, we are not talking about the acronym 'greatest of all time', even though this video is great. Taylor worked with Hadestown’s Reeve Carney on this music video. Talk about perfect casting. Anyone who used to work at Hot Topic lived for this look.

2 Lover - La La Land Yellow

While the “Lover” music video is one of her more recent ones, we have no doubt this yellow, La La Land-inspired look will be hit among fans at her "Lover Fest". It’s a look that can be worn around town, but only the die-hard fans will recognize it. An amazing group costume would be having each person dress like each specific room in the Lover snow globe.

1 Teardrops On My Guitar - Green Country Queen

The green dress from “Teardrops On My Guitar” was one of Taylor’s first breakout outfits, for one of her breakout songs. People still remember the green dress to this day. There are even Taylor Swift dolls wearing this outfit. The green dress belongs in a museum if it’s not already in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
